By inserting an implant behind each breast, Dr. Niessen is able to increase a woman’s bust line by one or more cup sizes. Breast enhancement is usually done to enhance the body contour of a woman who, for personal reasons, feels her breast size is too small, to balance a difference in breast size or to fill in breast volume loss due to pregnancy or breast-feeding.
Despite good health and a reasonable level of exercise, some people may still have a body with disproportionate contours due to localized fat deposits. These areas may be due to family traits rather than a lack of weight control or fitness. Liposuction slims and reshapes specific areas of the body by removing excess fat deposits, improving your body contours and proportion, and ultimately enhancing your self-image. Dr. Niessen also offers Lipodissolve. Are either of these procedures right for you?

After your breast lift surgery, you will wear a surgical bra or an elastic bandage over the gauze dressing. You will experience bruising on your breasts, discomfort and swelling for a day or two. Dr. Niessen will prescribe medication for the pain. Within ten days of your breast lift, your surgical bandage will be removed and replaced by a soft support bra. See if breast lift surgery is right for you.
After your abdominoplasty surgery, you will have drains in place to drain fluid from the surgical site. The drains will be removed when drainage has slowed or stopped. For the first one to two weeks, your abdomen will likely be swollen. Discomfort will be controlled by medication. You will have a gauze dressing on your abdomen, covered by an abdominal compression garment. Patients typically wear this for 6 weeks. Sutures are removed at approximately ten days.
A mastopexy, or “breast lift” is a surgical procedure to raise and reshape sagging breasts. Factors such as pregnancy, nursing and the force of gravity take their toll on a woman’s breasts. As the skin loses its elasticity, the breasts will often lose their shape and firmness and begin to sag.
Silicone gel implants are made of a gel filler that acts as a solid unit rather than a liquid. The gel holds together uniformly, while retaining the natural “give” that resembles actual breast tissue. Gel-filled breast implants use gel that is cohesive, safe and aesthetically pleasing. Silicone Gel-Filled Implants are offered in either a round style gel implant or a contour (anatomic) shaped gel implant. See if silicone breast implants are right for you!
We receive many questions about placement of breast implants from our patients. When a patient has breast augmentation surgery, the breast implant can either be placed partially under the pectoralis major muscle (submuscular) or on top of the muscle and under the breast gland (subglandular). Let Dr. Niessen help you decide which placement would be best for you.
Lipolysis injections or Lipodissolve must not be regarded as a new miracle drug for weight reduction. When it comes to fat deposits which can not be eliminated by diet or exercise, Lipodissolve initiates a process during which fat is melted away and then eliminated from the body via the usual metabolic process. See if Lipodissolve is right for you.
Many women with breast implants have successfully breast fed their babies. A peri-areolar incision is more likely to affect this ability. Some women experience mastitis, inflammation of the breast ducts, during this time, which can also cause capsular contracture. Taking antibiotics when symptoms first appear may minimize the potential of this problem.
After the holidays, many people make a New Year’s resolution to get into better shape, either for their self-esteem or health reasons. Many are trying to rid themselves of the extra pounds they put on, while celebrating the holidays. We can help with this. Despite good health and a reasonable level of exercise, some people may still have a body with disproportionate contours due to localized fat deposits. These areas can be treated with either liposuction orLipodissolve. Meet with Dr. Niessen to discuss which procedure would be best for you.
Dr. Niessen asks that women wait 2 months before wearing an under wire bra, after having had either breast implant or breast lift surgery. Your body is forming scar tissue around the breast implant for this period. During this time, the pressure from the under wire bra could cause irritation to your incision, and we suggest women wear a sports bra during their recovery time.

Smoking causes the blood vessels to constrict, reducing the blood supply and the oxygen carried by the blood to the surgical area. The tissues need this blood supply and the oxygen that the blood carries in order to heal. When the blood supply is reduced the tissues heal more slowly. Whether you are having a breast augmentation, a mastopexy, an abdominoplasty or another procedure, you should plan to quit six weeks prior to your surgery.
Lipodissolve is perfectly safe. Phosphatidylcholine (PPC) is a component of every cell in our body. As well, PPC is produced naturally by our bodies. It is highly concentrated in liver cells and fat cells and is a large part of nerve cells. PPC injected to dissolve stubborn fat deposits is derived from the soy plant. It has been used in other fields of medicine to treat fat embolism in the lung and for lowering blood cholesterol levels. When PPC is injected into fat cells, it has a detergent like effect and causes fat cells to…
